James opened the restaurant in November 1999 after four months of construction to expand the former John T’s Tavern, which had been in operation from the early 1990s until its closure in 1998.
San Pedro Brewing Company features an award-winning selection of original, hand-crafted ales and lagers, the finest spirits, great American cuisine, live entertainment weekly, a kids menu, plus catering and party facilities all right here at your friendly neighborhood pub.

We discovered San Pedro Brewing Company in 2017. We were staying nearby before embarking for a 28 day cruise to Hawaii and the South Pacific. (Yes!) I asked online about nearby places and received enthusiastic suggestions for SPBP.We gave it a try (we are always up for a brew pub and my wife is great at finding them wherever we go) and it was great. Since then we've been back several times - whenever we sail out of San Pedro. (It's about 8 - 9 hours drive from where we live.) I have also recommended SPBP online and in person to many others who sail out of San Pedro and will continue to do so. We will be sailing from that port again in May of 2024 and will definitely be visiting SPBP again at that time and introducing our son and his wife to the venue at that time as well. I know they will love the place.Great Food, Great Beer, and Great People. Who could ask for more???

Overall, good experience. The only reason it doesn’t get five stars is that the service was slow the night we went. In all fairness, our waitress and waiter did apologize for the wait and let us know there were several parties inside and I appreciated that.Food and beverage gets 5 stars. I ordered the Kentucky Tea and the brisket sliders. Tea was well made - perfect mix of whiskey and peach tea. The sliders come three to a plate. They were also well made. The beef was juicy and they came to our table hot despite the wait. We actually got our food first even though we ordered that last. Good value for price. I’d try it again to see if service is better.

They make the best clam chowder and Soups in general that i have ever tasted anywhere! Also love their LobsterBisque and there Chicken Lime soup . I’ve been going to the San Pedro Brewing Company since I was a kid! My entire family are big fans. The restaurant is located in the downtown San Pedro area. You can find street parking in front of the restaurant or there are a few parking lot options nearby. From what I remember the parking is free too.The restaurant is a nice spot to grab dinner and a few drinks. My go-to is their southwestern mac and cheese with cream corn in the side. Those are two items you definitely HAVE to try at least once! It’s honestly all I get. Every single time I dine there.Service can be a bit slow sometimes but their food is more than worth it! Prices (from what I remember) are fair for the portions you get. Definitely check them out if you’re in the area! You won’t be disappointed!

I got a pulled pork sandwich the house IPA and a Moscow mule, I spent about 40 bucks which in San Pedro is very good if you can grab a couple drinks and a full dinner and actually be filled up and satisfied.my friends got the flat iron chow mein dish and the hickory Burger. I had a taste of their food and it seemed really good to me so this will most likely be my go-to place if I'm going out to eat in San Pedro as I've not had many good experiences.the server was nice and timely the food came out promptly so it was overall a good experience and I highly recommend this place.

*Update* Had dinner here last night and they knocked it out of the park!! This was our first stop when we got to town and it was simply amazing. I had the patty melt, Gaffy fries and bread pudding. Patriot fan transplant; I was looking for a place to watch the Patriots Jets game. I questioned the time 10:00 am might be too early to start drinking. I liked the many assortments of craft beer. I'll return to sample more. I like a good IPA but didn't want to try a heavy IPA the waitress recommended the Apline "Hoppy Birthday" IPA. it was exactly what I wanted. The eggs and Tri tips were great. The eggs came out the way I ordered. The beer and the food were excellent. The Patriots' fans were scarce the day before Christmas but the few that watched the game were friendly. So far I enjoyed the place and looking forward to sampling more of their brews.
